UK ratifies UPC

On April 26th, 2018, UK ratified the UPC agreement as the 16th country to ratify.
In order for this agreement to enter into force, now only Germany still has to ratify.
This notification is currently on hold due to a constitutional complaint, which is to be handled this year. If this complaint is dismissed by the summer, it would  be possible from the beginning of 2019 to validate European patents as a unitary patent.

Validation of European patents in Cambodia

As a result of a new agreement between the European Patent Office and the Government of Cambodia, it is possible for  European patent applications (including International patent applications designating Europe) which where submitted after 1 March 2018, to be validated in Cambodia. After validation, the validated patent will have the same rights as a national patent.
